Now that I’ve sold most everything and moved, it’s time to hunker down and concentrate on blogging, and really putting money in savings so that I can start traveling full time. My goals are more monetary than time-oriented, though I’d like to say I will be traveling full time within the next year or two. But my dollar goals are $25,000 in savings (excluding rental income and some small investments) and $1000 in online income.
The online income is the part I’m worried about. I know blogging won’t bring in any money, at least for a long while, so I need to figure out a way to make money so I can keep traveling. Any suggestions are helpful! But I am determined that if others can make this work, so can I.
Current standing
I currently have just under $10,000 in savings and $0 in online income. Once I rent my house, my goal is to put at least $1000 in savings every month. My biggest worry right now is delay–I have a lot of big bills coming down the pike. Besides paying the rental company an arm and a leg, I need a new mattress, and I’ll eventually need a new phone and a proper laptop. Plus I have a very stubborn oil leak in my car which needs to be fixed, and for probably a lot of money this time–I’ve exhausted all my cheaper options.
So that is discouraging to my overall plan. But no matter how long it takes, I will find a way to make this travel thing work.
you’re a pretty great photographer…have you thought about submitting your photos to stock photography websites?
Thanks! I’d love to get back into proper photography one day but right now I don’t have the gear. Pics from my phone work well on the blog and on Instagram but don’t necessarily blow up well enough for professional use.
